Check your church nursery for lead contamination

The news gets worse everyday -- Mattel is now recalling millions of toys due to lead paint contamination.  Toys R Us is reporting that some baby bibs they carry also have lead contamination.  I worked with many Chinese factories when I was in business, and I guarantee you this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Lead poisoning is undetectable until permanent brain damage is done, so parents should be very concerned.   Churches are not exempt from this problem.  If your church is like ours, we buy the same stuff for our church nursery that parents buy for their kids.  Today I realized we need to check our church's children's equipment and furnishings for lead contamination.

Several manufacturers sell lead contamination testing kits.  We're going to test our children's equipment and rooms for lead contamination.  I encourage you to do the same.  I'll let you know what we find out in a few days.  It's a serious issue and churches need to take every precaution to assure parents that we truly are caring for their little ones.
